The first Stylize project I decided to do was something at the South Bay Galleria called Project Style. This was a competition where I could incorporate my style with what was trending. It was an amazing opportunity were you compete against other girls of all ages for the ultimate prize....to attend Mercedes-Benz Fashion week in New York, receive a $1000 gift card to South Bay Galleria , and move on to the national round.
My journey with Project Style started on July 31st when after 2 years of watching other girls on the stage showing off there style I decide I wanted to show off my own, so I entered. Not thinking I would get chosen, when I got a call that i was in I was thrilled. I was given $150 for the first round to go around the mall and piece an outfit together that was both trendy and creative. Boy was that crazy. I ran around the mall with my little sister picking out clothes an putting them together to create a cute, vintage outfit. Then I had to post a video of me explaining my outfit online. To win the first round of the competition I had to get the most votes from August 15th- August 30th.
When I won the first round I went onto the Final Live Style-Off at the South Bay Galleria Mall where they gave me $200 to shop around the mall and create another outfit that was in style. Then in front of the whole entire mall I had to walk the walk on the runway and show off my outfit. Though I didn't win the final prize it was still really fun and a great experience. I got to meet famous people in the fashion industry like Nick Verreos and Jeannie Mai, I got to keep my outfits, and I got to make new friends. Overall, I would say it was a success. Check out the pictures below to see how much fun it was!
